Yankee Letter Blocks

The New Yankee Letter Blocks for Word Building game was published in 1879 by

McLoughlin Brothers, New York. This game was owned by the Beekman family who

valued education and would have encouraged word building and spelling skills in their

three children. The decorative graphics on the box cover introduce a trend of using

elaborate graphics in the 1880s.
