Early Oregon: 1850-1860

by George E. Cole ca. 1905, Jottings of a Personal Recollection of a Pioneer 1850, the story begins with ships entering the Umpqua River sailing from San Francisco, Cole disembarks at the Umpqua R. and travels north by land. Eventually visits southern Oregon. Mention of many prominent early Oregon politicians, Cole was a participant in the southern Oregon Indian Wars.
