Savage Family Story, 1853, 161 years ago.

When the wagon train carrying James and Margaret Savage paused on a slope facing the Pacific highway east of Grants pass and a

a quarter of a mile from the Savage Rapid Damn, she claimed this was going to be her home and that her husband needed to get busy and build a cabin.   The wagon train helped him, and that began their home where 13 children were born.
