Jewels of the Past

lived in Fall Creek. Ruth Schliecker was Fall Creek school teacher 1931-33 Ralph and Juanita Erway married August 31, 1918 (photo included).  COPCO 1 dam on Klamath River, creating Copco Lake; power house below and forebay for COPCO 2 formed by smaller diversion dam. logger friends of father = Roy and Vera Hartwell, son Clinton became a friend. father hunted with Mick (and Ethel) Helsley; brother Stanton became Judge SK Helsley and Ralph appreciated getting to drop his father's name when needing to get out of a very "ticklish" situation. father died at 35 years of age.

father married Juanita Rude, who remarried in 1936, having 2 more children.  the 4 Erway children:  Norma married & adopted a girl.  Irma married and adopted a girl.  Mildred married, had a son and daughter (died just before her 55th birthday)...  Robert James Erway married Evely M. Langston, raied 3 daughters and a son. retired from US Forest Service.
