Fortmiller's closure marks end of an era

Dave Fortmiller's family run department store, an Ashland fixture since 1935, c;eared its shelves in 1995.  His desk, separated from his dad's by a thin partition on the second floor, had seen the changes since the opening of the Rogue Valley Mall.  The store opened the same year that the Oregon Shakespeare Festival befan.
