Territorial Days In Jackson County

A small old book, with 75 leaflets was found in the attic of the courthouse in Jacksonville which contained the records of the territory of Oregon, March 7, 1853.  Written in clear black ink, they are the first legal records of government in Southern Oregon.  They have since been rebound and restored.  The first board named James Clugage as presiding officer, Dr. G.A. Alexander as clerk.  Officers and Election precints were listed.
