The SOHS Library is OPEN to the public at 106 N. Central Avenue in Medford, with FREE access to the SOHS Archives, from 12:00 - 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Appointments are not necessary. Please contact library@sohs.org, or call 541-622-2025 ex 200 to ask questions or request research.

 

Mansion bears mark of architect to the stars

Built in 1939, the Holmes house was designed by famous designer Paul Williams, known for designing houses of Hollywood actors like Lucille Ball.  The 6,442 sq ft home has 4 bedrooms, a library, maid's quarters and 1.68 acres of land.  Originally there was 19.43 acres which was donated to the city as a park dedicated to Harry and Eleanor.
