Life on the Lower River Road: Fort Vannoy Grade School

Gordon Russ gave a personal history of his time in the grade school.  When he started school in 1948, the Dimmick School was a two room school that was eventually merged with Fort Vannoy school.  The Fort Vannoy grade school property was part John and Ellen Vannoy's 1853 donation land claim.  On June 19th, 1894 the school became part of Josephine County school district 19.  The article is full of games, lunch (or no lunch) details, physical education and changes of the play area.
