Edison was born in 1894 and moved to Oregon with his parents, a retired published and a teacher. On his 11th birthday he was given a rifle which started a lifelong love of hunting, His escapades hunting provided material for many novels which became his life work. Originally his parents hoped to be successful orchard owners, but prices dropped and that dream failed. He went on to became a best selling author of 47 to 60 novels, and some of his stories became movies. The story was written by Vicki Bryden who lived in the house Marshall owned when he lived in Medford.
