Ruth Ballweg was an educator and advocate for Physician Assistants. As a student, she was a childbirth educator and medical social worker in Ashland, Oregon. She graduated from MEDEX in 1978 and returned to Ashland to practice family medicine in Ashland. She returned to MEDEX in 1981 as a faculty member, and became the director in 1985.
