Handmade Home: Michael Klein, violin-maker built a chalet

Michael Klein took 12 years to turn his 100 acres overlooking the Applegate Valley into a 2,800 square foot home and violin business.  He started the building as a horse barn, but he used his knowledge gained from a blacksmith in Yreka and violin maker Victor Gardner of Lake Creek.  There are 380 mortise and tenon joints fastened with oak pegs.
