History Snooping: Stuart Creek= Bear Creek

Bill Miller gives a history of how Captain James Stuart was buried beside a creek near Phoenix.   The creek became Stuart Creek  and was noted as a "principal tributary to the Rogue River in its 1910 Geological survey.  But In 1913 the story changed when 3 grizzlies charged Joseph McMillen and a band of men .  The bears were killed and the creek was renamed.
