Men in clip are presumably partners Bill Dawkins and Jack Reid, presenting their $2 million plans to expand golf course to 18 holes, construct a new clubhouse (built around one end of the lake) and 100-unit motel with convention center. The city council agreed to a land trade to make it possible, as well as furnishing $16,000 worth of materials and labor for the road and extension of sewer and water lines. The city will own the land of the golf course and eventually the public buildings. (Ashland Tidings, October 18, 1965, page 1; October 20, 1965, page 1)
