Obituary from Medford Mail Tribune: “Norman Frederic Rowe, of Gold Beach, Ore., passed away December 19, 2011. He was born June 17, 1945, in Boston, Mass., to Henry A. Rowe and Elizabeth Docksey Rowe. On June 11, 1977, Norman married Yvonne Eads Rowe. A "jack of all trades," Norman was self-employed as a music teacher over the years in Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, California, and New Mexico. He was also a minister/elder with various Church of God organizations since 1975. Norman owned Talent Music Store, Talent Music Publishers, and Norm's Window Washing Service. He worked as a website designer, a school bus driver for Central Curry School District and as a transit bus driver for Curry Public Transit. His latest and most important endeavor was being a volunteer band director for Riley Creek Elementary School and Gold Beach High School. Norman kept the music in the school, even after the funding for the program was cut, as he believed there should always be music in school. Norman was a member of Ashland City Band playing the euphonium, and Curry-Del Norte Orchestra playing the oboe. He was a member of various online forums regarding music, such as TubeNet and Trombone Forum. Norman is survived by his wife, Yvonne E. Rowe; children, Paul, Braxton (Tony), Jenetta Pankenhorn; grandson, Isaac; siblings, Amy Kuntz and Daniel Rowe; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Rowe and Beth Armstrong; and his grandchildren, Ethan and Emerald. A memorial service will be held December 31, 2011, 12: 00 p.m., at the Clubhouse, Royal Mobile Estates Park, 1055 N. 5th Street, Jacksonville, Ore. Memorial contributions may be made to Norman F. Rowe Memorial Fund, Sterling Savings Bank.” NOTE: Norman Rowe also worked as a volunteer for the Southern Oregon Historical Society
