Sisson, David

Sisson arrived in Ashland Mills in late August,1856. He purchased and operated The Ashland Boarding House and practiced medicine. He and his wife Celeste bought 160 acres east of Ashland on July 1, 1857. David Sisson was shot and killed near Mill Creek on April 5, 1858. This was several weeks after a man named Beckett shot him, two weeks after Sisson's barn was burned, and 7 days after the Sisson's daughter was born. The murderer was never caught.
