Sparrow, Alex dedicates Hemlock tree planted in memory of Stephen Mather, 1st Director of the National Park Service; 7-4-1930 (negative is in G33 B 4). The location is just west of the Kiser Studio, with the promenade at Rim Village located just behind the crowd at this ceremony. Superintendent Elbert C. Solinsky is to the left of Sparrow, who was a Jackson County Commissioner at the time. Part of the Sparrow Collection.
