Dawes, Vice President Charles G. in Ashland. addressed a crowd of about 500 enthusiastic spectators during a b rief stop at the Medford Depot on Sept 8, 1925. the Vice-President called on the people of Medford to support him in his effort to end the filibuster rule in the U S Senate, over which he, as Vice President presided. "He hammered his points home with a vigor and determination that reminded one of the late Theodore Roosevelt," the Mail Tribune reported the following day.  This photograph shows Dawes addressing the crowd from the rear platform of his train as a reporter dutifully records the VP's remarks.
