Driving: A Dangerous but Important Job

Driving horse-drawn freight wagons or stages was a dangerous, but important, occupation in Western Siskiyou County, Calif. Some of the most colorful ?jehus? [JAY-whose]or drivers included Dan Cawley, Al and Hank Giddings, W. L. Smith, Charlie Laird, Dan Haskel, Joe Bacon, John Mack, Marcus Isaacs, and Frank Hovey.
