School Teacher Hooks Giant White Sturgeon in Rogue River

A retired Coos Bay high school teacher, Wayne Van Burger, went fishing for Rogue River green sturgeon for his television show, “The Joy of Fishing.” Sturgeon, a throwback to 200 million years ago, leave saltwater estuaries to spawn in freshwater rivers.
