Pistol River Rancher’s Outspoken Views Attract Attention

Born in 1821 in Tennessee, W. A. Forgey [for-gee as in go] left at 18 to work his way West. He married Hannah Michael in Kokomo, Ind., and they lived briefly in Clay County, Mo., before starting on the Oregon Trail in April 1847.
