Christmas Flood of 1964 Causes Widespread Damage

For 23 days, between Dec. 18, 1964, and Jan. 7, 1965, a 100-year flood named “The Christmas Flood of 1964” struck the West Coast. Unseasonably warm weather and heavy rains following an abundant snowpack released a torrent of water.
