Walker School and Avenue Take Name from Early Pioneer

One of Ashland’s oldest houses is on East Main Street, next door to today’s Willow Wind Learning Center. The original owner, John P. Walker, was born in Kentucky in about 1822 and came West for the California Gold Rush.
