Swift's homestead
I don't know how long Hiram Swift, also known as "High" Swift, lived on his little ranch west of little Pilot Rock near Hutton Creek. He was there when I was a boy and lived there until he passed away over twenty years ago.
Swift was in the horse business, and also cut and hauled wood to Hornbrook.
I believe that Swift homesteaded the place, and as far as I know it is still called the Swift place, although I think it was sold, and has only been used for cattle pasture at the present time. I do not know of any one else ever having lived there.
