Scottsburg Explorers Discover Loon Lake

A landslide some 1,460 years ago created Loon Lake, a popular recreation site a few miles east of Reedsport in Douglas County, Ore. Geologists believe huge chunks of sandstone blocked a narrow river canyon, impounding the waters of Lake Creek.
