MMT-Nov 1976; Studying new ambulance equipment; Mark Shelton, an emergency medical technician employed by Medford Ambulance, and Els Nijsse, a licensed practical nurse look over one of several pieces of modern emergency equipment found in the new "intensive care unit." The "Life-Pak 2" they are observing is a portable coronary monitoring device which can also be used to "shock" a patient's heartbeat back to a somewhat normal pattern while he or she is being transported to a hospital.
