KNAPP Electric Questioner

SOHS# 1979.56.4

One of the first battery operated quiz games, the Knapp Electric Questioner (circa 1928-

1930) had various sets of quiz cards ranging from flags to animals to trivia. Inventor

David Knapp marketed this game at a time when there was an interest in the concepts of

electricity and communications. Upon completing the circuit by touching the two probes

to the correct question and answer a buzzer would sound powered by a battery inserted

on the board that included Morse and conventional telegraph codes.
